Obituary - Jennings, Ned Glenn, Lexington Herald-Leader (January 20, 2008)
JENNINGS Ned Glenn, 69, passed away peacefully on Sat, Jan 19, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer, in the presence of his family.
He was born in Carlisle, Kentucky to the late Robert and Geneva Jennings. Ned grew up in Nicholas County, KY and attended the University of Kentucky where he played basketball and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce.
Ned worked throughout his life in various management positions and retired from the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. He spent his life and retirement doing the things he loved most which were gardening, fishing, playing golf, attending bible study and spending time with his family and their dog Belle. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church and the K-Men Association.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Gelder Jennings; a son, Stephen (Robin) Jennings, two daughters, Angela (James) Milton, and Ashley (John) Thomas; a brother, Joe (Bessie) Jennings, a sister, Shirley DeJean; and six grandchildren, Addison, Wyatt, and Landon Jennings, Brayden and Carson Milton, and Zachary Thomas.
Remembrances may be made through contributions to Second Presbyterian Church, 460 East Main Street, Lexington, KY, 40507 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Mon, Jan 21, 2008 from 5-7pm at W.R. Milward on Southland Drive. A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, on Tue, Jan 22, 2008 at 1pm.
