Obituary - Hughes, Lexington Herald (April 8, 1980)
James L. (Turkey) Hughes, 69, 1109 Pawnee Trail, Georgetown, died Monday morning at his home. A native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Kavanaugh and Artie Penn Hughes and a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was a retired mechanic, a veteran of World War II and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by several cousins. Graveside services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgetown Cemetery by Rev. L.H. Roebuck. Friends may call at Johnson's Funeral Home, Georgetown, from 7-9 p.m. today.
