Tomlinson
MOWEAQUA - J.A. "Ike" Tomlinson, 89, died Thursday (March 9, 2000) in his home in Jonesboro, Ark.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Bilyeu Cemetery, Moweaqua. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, in the First Christian Church Joneseboro, Ark. Memorials: First Christian Church, the J.A. "Ike" Tomlinson Family Endowmen Scholarship Fund at Arkansas State University or the charity of choice. Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro, Ark., is in charge of arrangements. Local arrangements by Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.
Coach Ike, as he was affectionately known, was a retired baseball coach, athletic director and professor emeritus from Arkansas State University.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Lois; a daughter; Arda T. McMullan; two grandchildren, John T. McMullan and Leigh McMullan Scales and four great-grandchildren, all of Kennett, Mo.; many nieces and nephews in Illinois.
