Funeral for Eklund
Funeral services for Ray Eklund, 75, will be held at the Henry Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23d Av. S., at 1 p.m. today.
Eklund was one of the University of Minnesota football and basketball stars in the early 1920s. At a time when the duty of the "backguard" in basketball was to bounce opposing forwards into the seats Eklund was the best in the Big Ten at that delightful duty. He played end, both ways, for the Gophers in the same physical manner.
