Leroy Edwards
- Assistance -

While this website contains a vast amount of information about Leroy Edwards' life and career (with the majority of the information collected by three individuals in different eras, Bob Stevenson of the Marshfield News-Herald from the 1950's, Myles Strasser of the Daily Northwestern in the late 1970's and University of Kentucky memorabilia collector Jack Maiden in the 1980's) there is always missing information which may eventually be useful in better helping to present his story. If anyone can provide information or can look up additional information in archives, I would greatly appreciate
Below is some specific information I would like to see.
- Additional information about high school honors, especially state and local honors
- Game-by-game statistics from Edwards' Junior and Sophomore years at Arsenal Tech (Arsenal Cannon, student publications, Indianapolis newspaper archives)
- Additional information about the institution of the 3-second rule in college basketball.
- Any additional quotes about Edwards from Adolph Rupp, such as quotes from after the game against Jacksonville (3/14/1970)
- Any national newspaper/magazine articles about Edwards
- Game-by-game statistics during Edwards' professional career, especially tournament games. (Oshkosh Newspaper archives)
- Additional exhibition and barn-storming games he played
- Game-by-game statistics of World Series of Basketball Tournament (Chicago Newspaper archives, Herald-American in particular)
- Ripley's Believe it Or Not entry about Edwards hitting 12 of 12 shots in Madison Square Garden
- Any games Edwards may have played in Madison Square Garden as a pro.
- Any direct quotes about Edwards from John Wooden, George Mikan etc.
- Boxscores and game stories concerning any games held between Edwards-led teams and any of the great black teams (Harlem Globetrotters, New York Rens etc.) or great black players (Tarzan Cooper, Dolly King etc.) of the time.
- Reference to any other listings (besides the Feb. 14, 1945 UPI) of Edwards as one of the top 5 basketball players of all time. In particular there reportedly was one around 1950 talking about the greatest players of the first half of the century.
