Obituary - Donohue, Former UK Basketball Star, Dies, Louisville Courier-Journal (October 11, 1969)
Donohue captained the UK team in 1937 and was named to the All-Southern basketball team. He also excelled in tennis, winning numerous tournaments. He was active in tennis until he became ill.
A former owner of the Tool Supply Co., Donohue has been serving as an oil distributor for several companies. A member of the Pendennis Club, he also was a past president of the Louisville Boat Club and active in a squash league.
Donohue, who starred for St. Xavier High in tennis and basketball before going to UK, is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Hamm; a son, James Warfield; and two sisters, Mrs. George Schenk, Louisville, and Mrs. James Schultheis, El Paso, Texas.
The body is at Pearson's Funeral home, 149 Breckinridge Lane. Burial will be Monday in Cave Hill Cemetery after funeral services at 10 a.m. Expressions of sympathy make take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
