Obituary - Jay C. Wallace dies; had served on school board, Lexington Leader
Wallace was associated with the R. Arnspiger Insurance Co. for 45 years.
He was a native of Lexington and a 1927 graduate of the University of Kentucky.
He was a former member of Central Christian Church and a member and elder emeritus of Crestwood Christian Church.
Wallace served on the Fayette County Board of Education from 1948 to 1968. He served on the New Union Federal Savings and Loan Association board of directors and also on the board of directors of First Security National Bank and Trust Co.
He was past president of the Sertoma Club and former secretary and treasurer of the service clubs bowling leagues. He was a member of the Lexington Lions Club.
Wallace was the father of Joan Bardach, of Washington, D.C., and Richard Courtney Wallace, who died in 1968 in Vietnam. Other survivors include a brother, Sidney M. Wallace, of Lexington and three grandchildren.
