Obituary - HEIZER, Lexington Herald-Leader (September 3, 1994)
Dr. William Lucien Heizer, Jr., 86, husband of Dorotha Williams Heizer, of 1396 Lakewood Drive, died at home Thursday. He retired in 1982 as a Physician and Surgeon having completed 48 years in practice. Born in New Haven, KY, he was son of the late William Lucien and Annie Earle Mony Heizer, Sr.
He received his B.S. Degree from the University of Ky. and his M.D Degree from the University of Michigan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Fayette Co. Medical Society, the Kentucky Medical Society, the American Medical Association and Nu Sigma Nu. He served in the US Army 18th Armored Division as a Physician and Lt. Col. during World War II in the European Theatre.
Other survivors include a daughter, Martha Earle Cochran and her husband Gary W. and a stepson, Randy D. Williams, all of Lexington; a sister, Virginia Rice, Morehead, KY; four grandchildren, Kellie Lynn Wallace, Gary W. Cochran, Jr., William Terrance Heizer and Frank Porter Heizer,; six great-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Davis Heizer; and a son, William Lucien Heizer III.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the W.R. Milward Mortuary - Broadway conducted by Rev. Greg Webber. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Monday.
