He was retired from the sales department at General Electric, was a member of Penisula McCabe United Methodist Church, and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross both of which are in Wilmington, DE.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Emily Whiteside.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Bliss, (Bob) Daugherty of Louisville and Cindy Bliss (Bill Clewell) of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Meghan and Eric Carter; and two step-grandchildren, Kathryn "Kalyn" and Alexandra Daugherty.
His funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at McCrery Funderal Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, with burial in Chester Bethel Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, Louisville KY.
