WINSTON-SALEM, Aug. 17 (AP) - Alvin Mitchell Sutton, 35, athletic coach at Kernersville High School, died at 3:45 p.m. today at his home near here of a heart attack. he had just completed a golf game and returned home when he was stricken.
A graduate of Western Carolina Teachers College and a native of Sylva, Sutton came to Forsyth County as a teacher-coach in 1936. He was at Sedge Garden High School until 1942 when he entered the Navy. After the war, he went with Kernersville High School in 1945.
Surviving are the widow; his mother, Mrs. G.W. Sutton of Sylva; two sisters, Miss Hattie Sutton and Mrs. Charlie Campbell, both of Sylva, and one brother, Richard Sutton of Knoxville, Tenn.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
